ZETA 5000 -PARTICULATE MONITORING TO NEW STANDARDS
The Zeta 5000 meets and exceeds the quality and performance standards now required under European Union regulations.
WHEN TO CHOOSE ZETA
The Zeta 5000 is the particulate monitoring instrument of choice:
- for companies wishing to demonstrate unimpeachable standards of compliance monitoring,
- for operators falling under the European Union´s Large Combustion Power Plant and Waste Incineration Directives,
- and for operators whose processes include ceramic or fabric filter banks, where its sensitivity creates opportunities for improvements in bag house management, with associated cost savings (FilterMonitor) which can easily exceed the cost of ownership.
KEY PRODUCT FEATURES
Optical design avoids biased sampling:
- Zeta has the largest detection area of any particulate monitoring instrument, as it uses a fan of light rather than the traditional narrow beam or probe
- Zeta focuses on particulate emissions in the centre of the stack, where particles are concentrated and the gas flow is greatest
The result — Zeta “sees” a much higher proportion of the emissions than other particulate monitoring equipment presently available, and so minimises sampling uncertainty, avoids biased sampling, and ensures satisfactory performance under the new European standards, EN 14181 and EN 13284-2.
Electronic and optical design guarantees more accurate monitoring:
- Zeta has the fastest response time of any particulates monitoring instrument.
- Zeta´s optics minimise the problem of noise from ambient light and heat, and
- Zeta´s electronics incorporate multiple techniques and procedures which further reduce noise and ensure operational stability
Unequalled Reliability and Repeatability:
- Zeta continually monitors system operation and self-compensates for environmental changes
- Zeta´s self-diagnostics provide early warning of age-related component deterioration, call for service before the system is out of compliance and before component warranties expire
- Zeta is operator friendly, with inbuilt procedures to maximise availability
Overcomes measurement uncertainties normally associated with:
- Humidity in the gas stream
- Uneven distribution of particulates across the stack
- Very low particulate concentrations (e.g. less than 0.1mg/M3)
- Ambient light
- Discontinuous operations
- Sticky and/or highly conductive particulate
- Variable gas velocity
- Variable gas temperatures
- Gas temperatures in excess of 800°C
Value Added
- Zeta´s extremely fast and high frequency of measurement (at 50 millisecond intervals) generates measurements so accurate that they can improve process control, and so drive down costs.
REGULATORY ISSUES
The Zeta family has been designed to meet and exceed the performance requirements for particulate monitoring instruments under MCERTS, the “fit for purpose” certification regime established by the Environment Agency to ensure environmental monitoring to the standard and quality demanded by European standard EN45011. The process by which the Zeta 5000 is evaluated and certified under the MCERTS regime is presently under way pursuant to a contract entered into with SIRA Environmental Ltd. On its completion, Zeta will also be certified under the German TU-LUFT regime for use in power stations (BlmSchV 13) and incinerators (BlmSchV 17). The design of Zeta is protected under Patents applied for and pending.
